Our Work. At the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), we research complex software engineering, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence engineering problems; create and test innovative technologies; and transition maturing solutions into practice.

Education and Outreach. The SEI takes innovation from concept, through research and development, and into application. Although we are an R&D center, our contribution doesn't end there; we also make things that people working in software and cybersecurity can use—prototypes, tools, methods, curricula, and more.

January 9, 2025—The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) this week released the complete set of assets from the 2024 SEI Research Review.The event, held in November in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, showcased the most innovative SEI research and development projects from 2024.

CERT Certificate in Digital Forensics. ONLINE • Situational Awareness, Cyber Workforce Development. The CERT Certificate in Digital Forensics is designed to familiarize experienced system and network computer professionals with the essential elements of digital forensics and build on their existing technical skill set.
