My PC is connected to my 4k TV and Netflix has horrible color banding (which comes across as bad quality ie resolution, when resolution isn't actually the issue). However, when I use the Netflix Smart TV app it looks great. Btw Youtube also has terrible compression resulting in color banding. And it's the same when using the PC or the Smart TV app.

Dec 13, 2016 · I have a Samsung KU6500 and am using the Netflix app and don't know if it's native 4K or upscaled 1080p. I'm sitting a bit of a distance from the tv so don't know if that's the problem and I can't confirm the resolution on the Netflix app because my control does not a info button but has an "extra" button.

Mar 22, 2022 · Yeah, those keyboard shortcuts aren't working. But that wouldn't necessarily make the app "worse". In Windows, the app is only way to watch 4K HDR & 5.1 audio (even Atmos!). Microsoft Edge also has 4K support in Netflix, but doesn't have 5.1 audio. Also, the browser version depends mostly on the "browser", not on Netflix.

There is no free alternative that acts the same as netflix, amazon, etc. stremio is the closest one and that requires some basic technological knowledge. You don't need to use real debrid for it to work, some people just like to have it as it's a good thing to have with stremio.

Aug 30, 2022 · The TV in question is an LG QNED capable of 4k 120Hz natively, as well as HDR and FreeSync. It ran at 120Hz when using the Netflix App via PC. Assuming smoothing is applied by the TV when it runs at 120Hz, then the result for the Windows Netflix App should be the same as the result for the WebOS Netflix App.

Jan 5, 2024 · Note: Netflix will still show the HD / HDR Icons instead of 4K in the library, but the quality is significantly better than the playback you get with 3440x1440p. Tested in Edge Browser and Windows Netflix App with Spiderman No Way Home and a 4K Subscription. Let me know if that helped you!
