James Marsters always struck me as the kind of guy you would want to invite to a party that involves a lot of fun conversation over drinks. I would want to drink Scotch on the porch and talk about whatever bullshit comes up with him.

James Marsters is a fantastic narrator and really brings the plot to life. I have almost every book in the series and I don’t regret a single one. Edit: as others have noted, the first few books aren’t the best in terms of the writing, but things do improve greatly around book four.

Jun 3, 2022 · If you want more Marsters I would highly recommend the Dresden Files audiobooks, of which he reads all 16 (so far) books. It's an absolutely fantastic series already, but his readings of the audiobooks are on another level entirely.

He asked her out while filming "School Hard" (B 2.03). Without James playing Spike, Buffy the Vampire Slayer likely would have been cancelled after BtVS S2.

Marsters was rough in the first couple of books, though that was at least partially the fault of the audio production company. He was rather rusty in Peace Talks as well (and still a bit so in Battle Ground), with some of the voices for characters being wildly different than how he's done then in previous entries.
