Feb 23, 2024 · Kojima has lost a lot of his luster for me. I used to worship the guy during his MGS1-4 days. His handling of MGSV and the lacklustre Death Stranding (relatively speaking) has really made me see him as a really flawed creator.

Apr 8, 2019 · Hideo Kojima is neither a particularly great game designer (compared the likes of Shinji Mikami or Hidetaka Miyazaki) nor a particularly good movie director. What he most definitely is, though, is an auteur with a vision and ability to convey it.

Kojima isn't scared to put his name on the cover, and take the responsibility for the entire product. People may call that "egotistical", but I see it as Kojima having balls, and announcing to the public that he is behind the product before it even comes out.

Instead he completely keeps Hayter in the dark and chooses to hire Sutherland. Mainline:- Kojima was just as abusive to Hayter as Konami was to KojiPro.

Dec 13, 2023 · Hideo Kojima is on some missions's "written by" credits but unlike Shuyo, Kojima never appears alone. There's always a co-writer. This leads me to my real question: Did Kojima actually write way less of the actual scripts of all these games than we thought, and is he actually just a "story/synopsis writer"? and not an author ?

Feb 23, 2024 · A documentary about Death Stranding and Hideo Kojima isn't something I ever expected to see being carried by Disney. I'll probably end up giving this a watch when I re-up by D+ subscription. There's plenty of fair criticism to be made about Kojima and his work, but he's really interesting to listen to when he talks about his ideas and influences.
