May 8, 2013 · I created some shapes in Illustrator and cut them apart using pathfinder and now i just want to change the inside of a shape from white to purple but it will only turn to shades of gray. I’ve cut and pasted into a new file where I’ve made other color objects but this particular object will only change to shades of gray.

Jan 20, 2013 · I am working in Illustrator after having worked in After Effects on motion graphics for a while and I’m trying to figure out a similar effect. When you create a mask in After Effects, you can go to that mask and choose to add/subtract it, which will invert it.

Nov 11, 2010 · So, I’ve just completed a project made in Illustrator. When I save it as a PDF and open it in Adobe Acrobat Professional and Preview on my Mac, the colors appear to be washed out. The text is no longer a deep black and looks rather gray. Also, the outer glow doesn’t seem to be there anymore.

Nov 15, 2010 · When I’m working in illustrator and install a new font into Font Book I have to restart Illustrator in order to see that font. Is there a way of refreshing Illustrators font list without having to quit then restart it?

Nov 19, 2009 · Thanks for the reply… I’m sorry for the scant information, I was at work, the files at home. At home, I’m running Adobe Illustrator CS v11.0 (mac based). I tried the design at work, PC based, CS 3 and had the same results–auto-scaling to 8.5×11. There is something I’m doing in one file, that I didn’t do in the others. I’m stumped.

May 20, 2011 · Since illustrator is vector based and not pixel based, you can’t have soft edges on any tool, however you can either use a blend mode or past your illustrator content on a photoshop document as a smart object, that way you can still keep vector features and go back to illustrator as needed, but can hide the contents using masks with soft edges.

Feb 18, 2017 · The third problem was that for some reason I only ever got this to work with Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 (for that one time), but it would never do anything for Adobe Illustrator CS6 (I have both programs installed). The hack was created for CS6 though, I believe.
