Volcano Simulator
Real-time lava flow simulation in an all-new OpenGL 4.5 rendering engine
Volcano Simulator
Reunion volcano museum. The simulator has been dedicated first for the « Cité du volcan » museum of the « Piton de la Fournaise » volcano on Reunion island, near Madagascar. It is one of the most active volcanoes on earth. This vibrant place has been a fantastic setup to build our first application. « Cité du volcan » museum on Reunion ...
Volcano Simulator
A fun and highly interactive volcano simulator. Feel the power of the earth and understand its dynamics ! The application is first dedicated to museums that wish to bring a new level of interactivity and realism to their visitors.
Volcano Simulator
All videos are recorded in the simulator in real time. Textures are created from photographs or by lava simulation. The Dolomieu crater was filled using the lava simulation, starting from 2010 topography.
Volcano Simulator
The application uses an home-made physics engine, based on fluid and particle simulation. It models reactions to flow, gravity, friction, collisions, explosions... All the environment is dynamic and can be affected by lava flow, impacts, water, erosion...
Volcano Simulator
Immersed in a lava field in front of a volcano ! The user can controls eruptive activity (explosion, lava temperature). This scenario give a chance to experience an eruption as if you were standing in front of it, with close lava flow, explosions and rock projections !
Volcano Simulator
Support of n-point light sources and cubemap environment lighting. On the following image the crater (filled using the lava simulation) is lighted with skybox, environment lights and sunlight. Dolomieu crater with environment lighting. Shadows. Supports of dynamic soft shadows casting and atmosphere shadows, from small to very large objects.
Volcano Simulator
Simulation of the Commerson eruption. The Commerson Crater is a large volcanic crater on the Reunion Island. Over 200 meters large and 120 meters deep. It was formed approximately 1850 years ago during a phreatomagmatic eruption. The simulator was used to …

About the volcano simulator. In « Le quotidien de la Reunion » - Nov 16 2014 : “ ...we see three childs being extatic in front of the Lava flow they just created ! With fingertips they have chosen themselves the eruption location, on the south flank of the volcano. ” “ Lava flows are particularly realistic and night vision is spectacular !
