I missed a ton of little spots that weren't visible when the engine was upside down but were right in your face when you turned it over: So out comes the tape again to mask off the whole engine one more time to put on another coat of paint. Pain in the *** but you gotta do the job right!

Mar 29, 2011 · RULE: The MORE flattener added to the paint, the LESS gloss to the paint finish. Makes sense. I believe that wheels were painted with 60-80 percent gloss. I have no knowledge about the flattener percentages. Your Fisher Body trim plate on your radiator support panel likely indicates "19M" for the lower Black color of your 75L/75U Trans Am (1982).

Nov 1, 2017 · That said, if you do buy one stay with name brand like Flaiming River, Unisteer etc. and skip the much cheaper private label stuff as they are china and low quality. You get what you pay for. Clean up your old one and paint it, save yourself $500.00. Dave

Ok another big update from this weekend. I finally have the engine bay completely stripped down and am ready to start the paint prep process.
