Jan 10, 2024 · The part where you mention avoiding the 20k price tag if you can get it for 5k makes me ask about what kind of performance you're after. If you're thinking of having a great tow vehicle and being fun to drive, you can certainly get that 454 to fit the bill...naturally aspirated.

Jan 31, 2023 · I built and ran a basically stock block, supercharged 454 marine application (27 FT. BAJA) trouble free for several years. It was a very basic setup - 8.5 - 1 compression, forged pistons, .570ish lift cam, mild duration (don't recall exactly), modified distributor, 750 double pump Holley boost matched, and a sweet little Weiand 177 blower.
