The Richland County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services for Richland County, including the towns of Lambert, Savage, and Crane. In addition to the state highways, which run through Richland County, we patrol over 1,200 miles of county roads as we serve and protect its 9,500 residents living in 2,084 square miles.

However, in order to obtain and maintain a license in Richland County, you MUST operate within the bounds of Richland County during the calendar year and provide the Health Department an opportunity for inspection.

Richland County Jail The jail staff is trained by attending the Correction / Detention Officer Basic Course at Montana Law Enforcement Academy in Helena. In addition to being responsible for the custody and care of inmates, they cook the meals and take care of custodial duties at the Law Enforcement Center.
