May 1, 2022 · In nearly every category, Font outstruck Vera 2:1 on total significant strikes, total strikes, head shots, body shots, distance shots and clinch shots. Only leg kicks did Vera throw more of but Font took significant damage to the face with the brutal elbows and sneaky kicks.

I think Font has enough experience against this specific kind of matchup to mostly do fine. Even Aldo struggled a lot through the early part of the fight to find counters on Font's jab, both Yanez and Garbrandt tried at different times to push the cross counter and mostly just got owned for it (and that's a lot of Song's upside in this kind of fight).

Aug 24, 2022 · Both men are great. But I think Yadong Song is on his way up, and Rob Font may be on his way down. I'd pick Yadong to win if they fought. I was really impressed with Yadong's last few fights, and even the Sandhagen fight.
