Jun 6, 2022 · A loop knot will of course allow a balanced jig to maintain a horizontal alignment with ease, and is probably the best knot for a balanced jig in many types of presentations. I pull my jigs at a constant speed, long lining, so a loop knot is OK but not a big advantage of any kind. The knot in the video is definitely worth mastering.

Apr 29, 2019 · I'm no jig pole expert , but I tie direct- no loop knot. I don't see how a 3 inch thich body jig and a 1 3/4 inch skinny jig can both hang level on the same jig head with a loop knot, but again I/m no physics major !!

Jul 18, 2020 · The non slip mono shown by DB4D works very well. It is in Kreh & Sosin’s “Practical Fishing Knots”. Pay close attention watching the video when feeding the end of the line through the loop to get the tag end back and forth correctly, and for the lighter test monos I would suggest at least 5 turns.

Jun 2, 2022 · a loop knot allows a jig to remain in that same position even after a missed bite and or a fish in hand without any adjustment. plus it is a strong knot and stupid easy and fast to tie . no other knot seems to even come close to as good in my experience

Sep 13, 2021 · Yes at times braid will slip with loop knot causing the knot to tighten but I have never had this be a problem. I’m not totally convinced with loop knot. Over the years I have used a palomor knot mostly when using braid. Only time I use loop knot is when using two jigs. Top one gets the loop knot. I catch no more fish one way or the other.

Nov 1, 2014 · Both work extremely well. Tie a small snap on your line using a Palamar Knot. The snap makes it very easy to change lures. To tie a loop knot thread your line through the lure one time. Pull about five inches of line and then hold both pieces of line in your left hand. Take the lure and just wrap it through the loop you formed three times.

May 20, 2021 · loop knot only for me . the fast snap will not fall the same as a loop knot . and horizontal is key ,but the loop knot is well known for being the king of horizontal anyway . set your jig free to be hunted down like it should . additional anything on my line is a nuisance item . there is a method to my madness I promise .
