"Jurupa" in Jurupa Valley derives its name from the first inhabitants of the area, Native Americans who called "Jurupa" their home. The Jurupa Valley area lies at the territorial boundaries of two different Tribes, the Gabrielino Tribe and the Serrano Tribe.
