Mar 14, 2023 · Officially known as the Ann E. Abramson Pier and Marine Facility, the Frederiksted Pier extends 1,526 feet due west from downtown Frederiksted on St. Croix’s west coast. Purpose-built to accommodate the world’s largest cruise ships, the pier also capably hosts submarines. At its furthest reaches, Frederiksted Pier sits 10 feet above sea level.

It is located at the west end of Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and accommodate two Eagle-class vessels, of a maximum of 142,000 gross tons each with drafts up to 29 feet and two mini-cruise vessels with drafts of 18 feet. Anchorage is also available in the outer harbor for larger ships.

Tons of sea turtles & great coral. Best snorkeling spot in St Croix. My family and I were very glad we went here. You can park for free on the street beside or near the pier. That was easy enough the two days we were there (on days with no cruise ships). Bring your own snorkel gear or rent it from one of the dive shops near the pier.

The palm-lined seafront has benches where you can sit and watch the cruise-ship scene. During quiet times (ie when cruise ships aren’t here), snorkelers and divers gravitate to the pier’s pilings, which attract an extensive collection of marine life, including schools of sea horses.
