What was the purpose of the Desert Eagle (50AE)?
In 1987, the .41 Magnum Desert Eagle Pistol (not currently in production) was introduced to fill a specific market niche. In 1989, the Mark VII model of the Desert Eagle became standard. All Desert Eagle Pistols manufactured since 1989 have Mark VII features: enlarged safety levers, an enlarged slide release and an improved, two-stage trigger.

Jun 24, 2008 · I can change my XIX Desert Eagle from one caliber and back faster than you can read this sentence. The .357 Magnum is a different matter entirely. You have to change the bolt assembly, which while not rocket science, is not nearly as fast/simple as the .44 to .50 swap.

Jan 4, 2011 · I see these peoples point but I love my 50 cal Desert Eagle. It has no real value other than to show off and make noise. It's an adrenaline rush to shoot. It's obnoxious at the indoor gun range. Some people would say annoying. For these reasons and more, I love my DE! I will never part with it. Only negative is price of ammo.
