Bettina Fay Aptheker (born September 2, 1944) [1] is an American political activist, radical feminist, professor and author. Aptheker was active in civil rights and anti-war movements of the 1960s and 1970s, and has since worked in developing feminist studies.

Mar 16, 2018 · I was lucky to interview Bettina Aptheker, a current distinguished professor in the Feminist Studies department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In the fall of 1964, she was a leader of the Free Speech Movement at UC Berkeley.

Bettina Aptheker, who at the age of five fell in love with her first woman, has dedicated her life to social justice.[1] The daughter of a renowned Marxist scholar, she herself was a devoted member of the Communist Party until later leaving it. She is now a professor in feminist studies.
