Boeing's 33,000 unionized machinists on Monday voted to approve the plane manufacturer's latest contract offer, ending a seven-week strike that had halted production of most of the company's passenger planes. The union said 59% voted to accept the contract.

The X account Daily Union Elections posted in response "Happy Election Day! Boeing workers have a contract!" The Boeing workers' new contract, effective immediately, includes a 38 percent general wage increase over four years, compounded to 43.65 percent, alongside a ratification bonus of $22,000.

Boeing machinists voted 59% in favor of the new contract on Monday. The company's more than 32,000 unionized machinists walked off the job on Sept. 13 after turning down a tentative labor agreement. Monday's vote on the new labor deal was workers' third since September.
