At its Unpacked event last week, Samsung took the wraps off the Galaxy S25 lineup and spent a majority of the time talking about AI -- a trend in phone announcements these days. Echoing both Google and Apple, Samsung said it " built an AI OS from the ground up " when referring to its latest phone software, One UI 7 .

It’s no secret I’ve been critical of Galaxy AI in its current form on the new Samsung Galaxy S25 phones. It needs a bit more polish to be ready for prime time, especially if Samsung wants to use it as the main reason you’d buy a new Samsung in 2025.

For the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung added a new ultra-wide camera sensor, Gorilla Armor 2 and a big revamp to its AI suite. But is that enough to convince you to buy a new $1,300 phone?
