New Orleans Saints and the MHSAA announced the sanction of girls flag football for 12 schools around the Mississippi starting in the spring 2025.

The MHSAA announced that girls flag football is coming to twelve high schools in Mississippi this Spring. The high schools included are: Brandon, Richland, South Pike, McComb, Oak Grove, Perry Central,

St. Martin, George County, Vancleave, East Central and Picayune will all field teams from the Coast as part of the inaugural season, which is scheduled to begin in late March. Brandon, McComb, Meridian, Oak Grove, Perry Central, Richland and South Pike round out the list of year-one teams.

On Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints and the Mississippi High School Activities Association announced it is sanctioning high school flag football there.

The pilot season will feature 12 high schools, with games taking place at Southwest Mississippi Community College and Picayune High School

Girls at four, Pine Belt-area high schools will have the opportunity to play football this spring. The New Orleans Saints, in collaboration with the Mississippi High School Activities Association, announced Wednesday the official sanctioning of girls high school flag football in Mississippi.
