Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Truong, who at 23 years old became the city's youngest mayor when he took the oath of office two years ago, was arrested Tuesday morning by the Louisiana State Police as part of a multi-agency drug trafficking investigation, authorities said.

The 25-year-old mayor of Bogalusa, Louisiana, on Tuesday was arrested and accused of involvement in a drug-trafficking operation and the soliciting of prostitution.

Truong grew up in Bogalusa and, after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a degree in African American Studies, moved back to his hometown with hopes of running for public office. During his time in Missouri, he interned for Democratic U.S. Rep. Lacy Clay.
