CHICAGO — Police are searching for several suspects in an overnight shooting and crash from an incident that started on the Near West Side early Monday morning and left a trail of debris and a man wounded.

The shooting took place at about 1:42 a.m. in the 200-block of South Ashland Avenue. Police said a 33-year-old man was in the front-passenger seat of a black SUV when someone in a white SUV fired shots.

The man was shot in the torso and both SUVs crashed into a building in the 1800 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said. People in the white SUV ran away from the crash and the gunshot victim was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in good condition.
