It's been a strange few days for Palworld on Steam Deck. Originally it was rated Steam Deck Playable, then after the major Feybreak update Valve set it as Steam Deck Unsupported and now it's back to Steam Deck Playable again.

Palworld is enjoying a nice resurgence after the release of the Feybreak major update with a huge increase in players. Going from around a regular 45,000 players online to around 200,000 concurrent players.

Running through the microSD boot may be the best and easiest way to get to Epic Games Store, but how you do it is up to you. The first thing users should do is shut down their Steam Deck and insert the microSD card into the microSD slot. Then, hold the volume down button, press the power button and let them both go once the startup sound is heard.

Valve puts compatibility information into the Steam Deck's library, but it's not as good as ProtonDB. So let's integrate that, instead.

There's a lot to like about the hardware beyond the screen as well. The analog sticks are sturdy and reliable, the d-pad is a little weirdly placed but otherwise great, and everything else about it feels sufficiently premium. It's a little on the heavy side, but given how much tech is packed into this thing, that's more than forgivable.
