The Philadelphia Police Department are investigating after they say an officer was injured and another person died in a North Philly shooting Tuesday night. Details of the incident are still unfolding.

A police officer was shot in the hand Tuesday night in North Philadelphia and the alleged shooter was dead, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. Shortly before 9 p.m., an officer reported that shots were fired in the area of 23rd Street and Indiana Avenue, police said.
