Security measures are being intensified in New Orleans as the city prepares to host Super Bowl LIX, just weeks after a deadly terrorist attack on Bourbon Street. Law enforcement agencies are implementing an extensive security plan to ensure the safety of residents and visitors during the major sporting event.

Over 2,000 federal, state and local law enforcement officers are on the ground in New Orleans to ensure massive crowds for Sunday's Super Bowl are safe.

Approximately 2,000 law enforcement officers will be present for the Super Bowl, New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told reporters Wednesday. No vehicle traffic will be allowed on the Bourbon Street, and the city will block intersections leading to the most popular areas, Kirkpatrick said.
