In a unanimous vote on Tuesday, the Fort Worth Independent School District board selected Karen Molinar as the lone finalist for the district's next superintendent. In compliance with Texas law, the district must wait 21 days before making a final decision.

The Fort Worth Independent School District’s board voted on Tuesday to name longtime administrator Karen Molinar as the lone finalist for the district’s next superintendent.

Molinar has served with the district for 27 years and was named the permanent superintendent after serving as interim for the past four months.

Trustees are expected to name a lone finalist for FWISD superintendent Feb. 18. Karen Molinar is the only person who has publicly expressed interest.
