As bird flu continues to spread, impacting poultry farms and the price of eggs, the Agriculture Department says it's almost doubling the amount spent to combat it.

Additional mosquito trapping and testing done in areas where dead birds were located has not found any positive mosquitoes, the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District said.
