Steven Tyler made a rare live appearance during Aerosmith’s performance during the “Jam for Janie” event on Feb. 2.

Aerosmith is getting the band back together again.

Steven Tyler made a return to the stage over the weekend, just months after retiring. The Aerosmith front man hit the stage for Tyler’s sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles, marking his first appearance since September.

Aerosmith released a statement at the time of their retirement in 2024 that read: ‘It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.

Steven Tyler returned to the stage with Aerosmith over the weekend less than a year after he and the band announced their retirement. That came after Tyler fractured his larynx in a show on Sept. 9, 2023, and the band pointed to that in a lengthy statement when it announced it was stepping away from the road.

Aerosmith, who retired from touring in 2024 after Steven Tyler suffered a vocal injury, will come together one night at the sixth annual Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party in Los Angeles.

One of the biggest rock bands in the history of music, Aerosmith rose to fame in the mid to late 70s and have become synonymous with the debauchery and the blood-pumping, raw live shows associated with the era.
