Outgoing Sauber racer Zhou Guanyu is close to remaining in Formula 1 for 2025 in a reserve role driver role at Ferrari, according to a recent report in the Italian media. Sauber’s announcement last week that Gabriel Bortoleto will partner Nico Hulkenberg next season confirmed the much-expected news that Zhou will depart the team.

With his current teammate Valtteri Bottas expected to return to Mercedes as a reserve driver and advisor to Toto Wolff, Zhou could take a similar path. The 25-year-old Chinese driver, who has previously hinted at considering a reserve role, is now being linked to Ferrari, according to Corriere della Sera.
