The National Hurricane Center is warning residents on the Gulf Coast to monitor the forecast for another tropical system that may develop near the same area Hurricane Helene formed last week. A broad area of low pressure over the western Caribbean Sea is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms.

A low-pressure system in the eastern Caribbean has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next seven days, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
