Madison mourns the loss of Rubi Vergara, 14, who was killed in a school shooting, as her family forgives the assailant's family.

The family of Rubi Vergara, the freshman who was gunned down at Abundant Life Christian School earlier this week, shockingly expressed forgiveness for the teenager’s killer at her funeral Saturday where hundreds came to mourn her.

Authorities identified the victims of the deadly shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wis., as Erin West, a 42-year-old teacher, and Rubi Vergara, a 14-year-old student. In a press release on Wednesday night,

MADISON, Wis. - Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 21 for Rubi Vergara, the 14-year-old girl who died in the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. The funeral service for Vergara was held at City Church in Madison, at 11 a.m. The burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
