The Orioles finally know their opponent for the Wild Card series. The preparation will get a lot easier.The Royals clinched the No. 5 seed and will come to Camden Yards for Tuesday’s Game 1, setting up a rematch of the 2014 Championship Series that began the Orioles' eight-game playoff losing streak.

The Baltimore Orioles won 91 games this season, and for much of the second half, it felt like a disappointment. At any point in the previous 40 years, that sentence would’ve been absurd to write about this franchise.

Today was the final day of the regular season, and while there was plenty of drama around the league, the Orioles game was about as chill as you could get. A solid starting pitching performance followed by a few home runs and in the end it was a 6-2 victory over the Twins and a series sweep to wrap things up.

Camden Yards will open 2 1/2 hours before first pitch Tuesday, and Maryland alumnus Scott Van Pelt will throw the ceremonial first pitch.

The stage is set for the first Wild Card game of the 2024 postseason for the Orioles, who will take on the Kansas City Royals at Camden Yards Tuesday at 4:08 p.m. Orioles fans were fired up as they chanted for the team at a postseason rally at the Inner Harbor Monday.
