A daily lottery player in Arkansas said he buys tickets from around the state because he “plays to win.” His strategy paid off, leading to a huge win in the Natural State Jackpot Dec. 22 drawing, according to a Jan. 31 news release from Arkansas lottery officials.

Two Arkansas men won big in the recent drawings for the Natural State Jackpot and the LOTTO lottery games. Keith S. from Pulaski County won $460,000 in the Dec. 22 Natural State drawing. He bought the winning ticket from the Casey’s gas station on White Oak Crossing in Maumelle.

A Powerball ticket sold in Illinois won $50,000, but just missed the $71 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The tickets matched four of five winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, Jan. 29, the Illinois Lottery said.

Powerball draws on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot with a $2 ticket are 1 in 292,201,338. Mega Millions draws on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot with a $2 ticket are 1-in-302,575,350.
