(Reuters) -Honeywell International is closing in on a nearly $2.2 billion deal to buy pump-maker Sundyne from private-equity firm Warburg Pincus, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. Honeywell and Sundyne did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comments.

Honeywell has agreed to buy Sundyne from private equity firm Warburg Pincus for $2.16bn in an all-cash deal which is expected to close in the second quarter. Sundyne specialises in the design, manufacturing and aftermarket support of highly engineered pumps and gas compressors used in process industries.

Honeywell International said on Tuesday (Mar 4) it would buy pump-maker Sundyne from private-equity firm Warburg Pincus for US$2.16 billion in cash, as the US conglomerate strengthens its energy business ahead of a planned three-way split.
