The LA District Attorney's Office asked for a delay in the resentencing hearings for Erik and Lyle Menendez, who are pushing for freedom after killing their parents.

Brothers Erik and Lyle Menendez, jailed for life for the 1989 murders of their parents in Beverly Hills, are set to be given a hearing on Thursday to determine whether they may be eligible for a lesser sentence and a path to parole after more than three decades behind bars.

The Menendez brothers will have to wait another month on their bid for freedom after the judge presiding over their resentencing delayed the proceedings after prosecutors filed for a continuance.
