LG's G series models of OLED TVs offer the best televisual tech the brand has to offer. The G4 made real strides in terms of picture quality and sound, earning it a five-star review in 2024. And now the G5 looks to take things on a step.

With LG G4s finding their way into many living rooms over the past year, we figured it might be helpful to these legions of proud G4 owners if we shared our experience of how to get the very best from their spectacular home cinema centrepiece.

So brightness and color upgrades are seemingly there, but LG is claiming its new four-stack OLED structure is also more energy efficient. LG says the 65-inch LG G5 OLED is rated 164W in energy consumption, which is quite the improvement over last year's 65-inch G4, which came in at 209W.

Is it worth upgrading from your trusty C4? It's too early to tell, but at a technical level there are some key differences.
