Family members are suing the city of Dallas for the wrongful death of a man while police chased a murder suspect. They say they want to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.

Anthony Welch was driving on I-35E near Red Oak when he was crashed into by a suspect who was leading Dallas officers on a pursuit.

The man was killed earlier this month when a murder suspect, fleeing from police, crashed into his car with his wife.

ELLIS COUNTY – An innocent victim died and two people were hospitalized Thursday after Dallas police were involved in a shooting following a chase and two-vehicle crash on I-35E in Ellis County, authorities said. It happened Thursday morning on I-35E southbound at Red Oak Road, in northern Ellis County.

The family of a innocent driver who died when a police chase suspect crashed is suing the city of Dallas over that chase.

Gabriel Cerna of Mesquite has been booked into the Dallas County jail on more than $2 million bond. Cerna was wanted for a capital murder that happened on Dec. 29th.
