Mercedes will reportedly unveil an electric supercar concept later this year. The mysterious model could have a solid state battery and axial-flux motors. The supercar is expected to be the fastest-accelerating AMG ever created.

It's a fully electric supercar that will serve as a showcase for what AMG has in store for its future EVs. Its design won't be dissimilar to the Mercedes One-Eleven concept, which means it will look like a traditional mid-engined supercar.

It’s only been a week since Autocar reported the Mercedes-AMG C63 would switch from its four-cylinder PHEV powertrain to a V8, but a new report from Wards Auto is already splashing cold water on the idea.

The Vision AMG concept more closely previews an electric four-door liftback that will serve as a zero-emissions alternative to the current GT 4-Door Coupe. The electric liftback is also undergoing testing and is slated to arrive next year, likely as a 2027 model for the U.S. The electric SUV is expected to follow in 2027, arriving as a 2028 model.

Mercedes has a slew of new models due in the next two years, including an AMG supercar concept previewing the performance division's electric powertrain.

We’ll believe it when we see it, but the Mercedes-AMG C 63 might be reunited with its beloved V-8 as soon as 2026.

The German luxury brand intends to roll out 17 electric vehicles and 19 models with combustion engines. The portfolio will be overhauled with fresh products, ranging from an all-new CLA to an S-Class facelift.
