The collision, which killed one person and injured four others, happened just after 12:15 a.m. in the 1700 block of W. Puente Avenue between N. Orange Avenue and N. Sunset Avenue, according to the West Covina Police Department.

A wrong-way crash left one person dead and four others hospitalized in West Covina Friday. Police responded to the crash on the 1700 block of West Puente Avenue in West Covina at around 12:16 a.m.

At around 12:15 a.m., officers responded to a collision on the 1700 block of West Puente Avenue, north of the 10 Freeway, according to a news release. Investigators determined that a wrong-way driver in a black Toyota sedan crashed into a white Honda sedan carrying four people. A man in the backseat of the Honda was declared dead at the scene.
