The national average price for regular gas decreased slightly on Friday to $3.162 per gallon, according to AAA. It was a marginal drop from a week ago when a gallon of regular gas cost $3.165. Friday’s decrease marks a whirlwind month for gas prices since President Donald Trump began his term on Jan.

The average fuel price in state has risen about 15 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices across the state in the last year have been as low as $3.75 on Dec. 30, 2024, and as high as $4.55 on April 15, 2024. A year ago, the average gas price in Washington was 2% higher at $3.99 per gallon.
