The city has earmarked $1.4 million in the 2018 budget for traffic control measures at the intersection and is proposing a roundabout, possibly starting construction as early as 2019.

Toronto was the first city in North America to use a computerized traffic control system, back in the 1960s. Some 2,400 of the city’s traffic signals are computer-controlled.
