Update: ‌HomePod‌ software version 16.3 enables the temperature and humidity sensor in the ‌HomePod mini‌, according to Apple's release notes.

The sensor is made by Texas Instruments, which calls it a "HDC2010 Humidity and Temperature Digital Sensor," according to TechInsights, a firm that analyses components inside of electronics.

The sensor measures relative and absolute humidity, dew point, wet and dry temperatures, and enthalpy. The range of measurement is from 0% to 100% relative humidity and – 40F to 356F.
