Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has purchased the freehold of the Beacon pub in South Ham with plans to turn it into a community hub.

Despite ByteDance stating that they are not planning to sell, some investors have shown interest in buying the company.

The two parties seemed to agree on some future steps to prevent regulatory overreach — even while arguing about past practices.
