Ubisoft wants as many people as possible to give Skull and Bones a go when it comes to its open beta. This is a good sign for those who are skeptical about whether it will be worth playing or not.
Ubisoft has confirmed it will hold an open beta for its pirate-themed game Skull and Bones from Feb 8-11 ahead of its full release on Feb. 16. It also teased its roadmap for post-launch content.

Ubisoft has announced an open beta for Skull and Bones. The studio's long-in-the-works pirate game has had quite a troubled development, which has resulted in several delays over the last few years.
The open beta will begin on February 7 at 6pm PT (which is 2am GMT and 1pm AET on February 8) and run until 3pm PT on February 11 (which works out as 11pm GMT, and 10am AET on February 12).
Skull and Bones will receive an open beta February 8-11, with progress and exclusive rewards earned during the beta period carrying forward into the full game when it releases February 16, 2024.
The open beta is, as expected, open to anyone who wants to play Skull and Bones. All you need is a console or PC on which the game will run, such as a PS5 or an Xbox Series X/S.
Available to all players with or without a pre-order, the Skull and Bones open beta has a February 8 release date and a 2am GMT UK launch time. The open beta ends at 11pm GMT on February 11.
