Ottawa paramedics say a man is dead after the small airplane he was piloting crashed into trees near the city’s airport on Thursday. Emergency crews responded to a wooded area near Riverside Drive and Hunt Club Road just before 6 p.m. after reports that the small plane crashed.

Ottawa paramedics confirmed Friday the death of the pilot of a small aircraft that crashed into a forested area near Ottawa International Airport. Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps confirmed that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
