The Monaco Grand Prix has long been nicknamed “the jewel in Formula 1’s crown” but for all the sparkle, the racing has often been dull.

The FIA has announced that ‘Monaco-specific regulations’ are being discussed, as part of the most recent F1 Commission meeting. Those in attendance agreed a rule proposal for increased mandatory pit stops in the race as a way of livening up the action,

Monaco has faced heavy criticism in recent years for the poor quality of racing and low number of overtakes on the track.
