The motorway was initially shut in both directions but it reopened westbound soon after. Police are directing traffic onto the M80 at Junction 1 but it has now been fully reopened to traffic.

The M8 has full reopened after part of it was shut by police to deal with an incident. The motorway was shut between Junctions 11 and 12 eastbound with drivers being urged to find alternative routes.
