The hilarious yet sadly short lived Nickelodeon cartoon Invader Zim was a favorite ours, due in no small part to a character called GIR, a little borderline insane robot.

As Zim angrily yells at someone (probably GIR), his bored leaders Almighty Tallest Red and Purple can be seen watching him. It’s nice to know that 13 years later Purple still loves doughnuts.

In 2015, Oni Press launched an Invader Zim comic book series with Vasquez himself on board as a writer. The series continues today, having released Invader Zim #18 in March 2017.

The 2000s Nicktoon Invader Zim is somehow both of these extremes, and it’s breaking my brain. On paper, Invader Zim should be a perfect stoned binge-watch.
