As per Google's official support document (as spotted by 9to5Google), seven more Google Assistant features have recently been pulled across Android devices and Nest smart speakers and displays.

Earlier, when Google rolled out Gemini to eligible devices, the tech giant allowed users to opt in to replace Google Assistant. However, with the Pixel 9 series, Gemini takes charge as the default AI.

Google notes that Gemini has more advanced capabilities than Assistant (in theory, at least), and provides new ways of getting help and info on topics via tools like Gemini Live and Deep Research.

Google is officially retiring its iconic digital assistant this year. The company will replace it, of course, with Gemini, its generative AI bot.
