Franklin Templeton filed for an exchange-traded fund on Friday that will track the spot price of Solana , reflecting the growing interest among asset managers to profit from the popularity of cryptocurrencies beyond bitcoin .

Franklin Templeton has joined the asset managers waiting in line for approval of a Solana spot exchange-traded fund (ETF). It filed an S-1 form with the United States Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on Feb.

EZPZ is now Franklin Templeton’s third digital asset ETF. The first such ETF, Franklin Bitcoin ETF, which trades under the ticker EZBC, was launched Jan. 11, 2024, while the Franklin Ethereum ETF, which trades under the ticker EZET, was launched July 23.
