(Reuters) -British homeware retailer Dunelm Group's CEO Nick Wilkinson is to retire after seven years in the role, the company said on Tuesday as it also reported flat half-year pre-tax profit, citing weak consumer spending.

Dunelm has announced that its CEO Nick Wilkinson intends to retire from Dunelm and full-time executive life, following seven years in the role. The retailer says it will commence a formal recruitment process for Nick’s successor, considering both internal and external candidates. Nick will remain in the role until a successor is appointed.

Dunelm CEO Nick Wilkinson is set to retire from his position following seven years in the role as Dunelm announced strong trading for the first half of the year. The company saw its total sales rise 2.4% to £893.7m, up from £872.5m in the same period last year, during the six month period ended 28 December 2024.

Homeware retailer Dunelm announced the retirement of its chief executive on Tuesday as it posted an uptick in interim profit and revenue.

Nick Wilkinson took over from John Browett as the Leicestershire-based firm's chief executive in 2018 following a five-year stint running cycling retailer Evans Cycles.
