The Delaware River Basin Commission is holding a virtual meeting Tuesday as it considers next steps to address drought conditions in the Delaware River.

Reservoir levels remain above thresholds that trigger drought operations, but officials could soon declare a water supply emergency.

Prolonged drought conditions have led to an increase in salt water in the Delaware River. Officials say if the river's "salt front" continues moving toward the Ben Franklin Bridge, it could impact drinking water and have potential health consequences.
